Damon S. Starrett, Esq. has significant and extensive experience in federal and state courts, both at the trial court and appellate court level. Since joining Hilyard, Bogan & Palmer, P.A., Mr. Starrett has litigated cases in both federal and state courts across the state of Florida, including defending section 1983 claims for police liability clients and negligence claims for governmental and transportation liability clients. Mr. Starrett also consistently provides positive results for his clients at the motion to dismiss, summary judgment and appellate stages of the case.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Starrett served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, Orange and Osceola Counties. As a prosecutor, Mr. Starrett served as lead trial attorney on more than 50 jury trials, and was twice promoted to a specialist to prosecute domestic violence and economic crimes cases.

Mr. Starrett is a “Double Gator” having received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, as well his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
